4. What is soy protein?

Soy protein is the protein found in products including tofu, tempeh, & soy milk. Our Soy Protein Isolate is a powdered form made up of 90% soy protein, and is produced through defatted soybean flakes that have been washed, dehydrated and powdered for convenience. For those following a vegan or dairy free diet, soy protein often acts as a main source of protein and is packed with fibre, vitamins and minerals including calcium, iron, magnesium, and zinc.

5. What are the benefits of soy protein?

Each serving of Soy Protein Isolate is packed with 27g protein and contains all nine essential amino acids. This makes it a great plant-based alternative to whey protein for those transitioning into a vegan diet. There are many health benefits associated with amino acids including building muscle, transporting nutrients and preventing illness, therefore an amino acid deficiency could result in low immunity and digestive problems, depression, fertility issues, lower mental alertness, slowed growth in children, and many other health issues.

Studies also suggest that a high soy diet may also aid heart health, cancer risk, and blood sugar levels.

Myvegan Soy Isolate also has low sugar and no fat which makes it a healthy alternative for use in baking instead of sugary flavourings.

6. What is brown rice protein?

Brown rice protein is a supplement made from natural brown rice. To produce it into a powder form, the brown rice is grinded with select enzymes that cause the protein and carbohydrates that make up the rice to separate. The protein is isolated, resulting in a powder.

Our Brown rice protein is quality protein sourced from 100% wholegrain rice. Due to its source, brown rice protein is naturally GMO-free, low in both fat and sugar and suitable for vegetarians, vegans and those who are lactose intollerant.

7. Is brown rice a good source of protein?

Brown Rice Protein is a high quality protein powder sourced from whole grain rice. With over 24g of protein per 30g serving, it is a highly efficient source of plant-based protein – perfect for supporting the growth and maintenance of healthy muscle mass.

However, though brown rice has potential to be a great source of protein, it is not a complete protein because it lacks lysine and therefore needs to be combined with another lysine-containing protein. Learn more about this plant-based protein here.
