What are Organic Cacao Liquor Buttons?
Containing a host of active substances, cacao beans are the raw ingredient used in chocolate manufacturing. Originating from the tropical climates in South America, the Theobroma Cacao tree was considered sacred amongst the Mayans and Aztecs. Today, cacao is viewed by many as a “superfood” due to the variety of nutrients it contains.
Our Organic Cacao Liquor Buttons are produced by organic growers, and harvested by hand as pods. The raw beans are then checked for quality and fermented to reduce their natural bitterness. The Cacao Liquor is made by pressing ground, milled cacao nibs to make a cacao paste. The paste is then melted into a liquor which is cooled and moulded into button shapes.
What are the benefits of cacao?
Cacao is a versatile food which can be used in drinks and bakes to add a natural chocolatey taste. Cacao is also rich in calcium and minerals such as iron and magnesium which contribute to regular metabolism and support normal muscle function.1,2
Our Organic Cacao Liquor Buttons are certified organic by the Soil Association under the code GB-ORG-05. They are also a great source of fibre and plant-based protein whilst containing only 3g sugar for every 100g.

Amazing in my oats
As it’s 100% it can taste very bitter on its own, but melted in to my microwave oats it’s absolutely delicious. It feels so indulgent and satisfies my chocolate craving without the guilt!
