This 100% Beta-Alanine Amino Acid powder is a completely pure, gluten-free and vegan source of the amino acid, beta-alanine.
What is Beta-Alanine?
Beta-alanine is a non-essential amino acid meaning it can be produced in the body so is not essential to include in your diet but can be taken as a supplement to a balanced diet to increase the amount of beta-alanine available in the body.
Beta-alanine is different to most other amino acids, because it isn't used by the body to create proteins. Instead, it plays an important role in the production of carnosine which is stored in skeletal muscle and helps to reduce the build-up of lactic acid in muscles during exercise.
- Source of amino acids, which support muscle growth
- Popular amino-acid for pre-workout shakes
- Supports all fitness goals
- Gluten-Free
Benefits of Beta Alanine
Beta-alanine is a popular exercise supplement as it can increase levels of carnosine in the body. Beta-alanine is used to increase carnosine levels in skeletal muscle, particularly for exercise and sport.
Our 100% Beta-Alanine Amino Acid is unflavoured so can be easily added to whichever flavoured pre-workout drink or shake you enjoy. Our beta-alanine powder is suitable for vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets..
How can vegans use Beta Alanine?
Beta-alanine is a useful amino acid for any diet, however many of the top natural food sources are animal-based. Our Beta-Alanine is 100% vegan so is particularly useful for anyone on a plant-based diet who is looking to increase levels of carnosine in their muscles. Our Beta Alanine is a popular supplement to add to pre-workout shakes, before a gym workout or training session.

Does its job
Vegans have about 50% less carnosine in their muscles compared to omnivores. Since taking this product, I've experienced an explicit increase to exercise capacity and an explicit decrease to muscular fatigue - and some consequential positive changes to my body composition. I had tingling in the hands and lips when I first started taking the product, resulting in mild dermatitis on my hands, but this quickly resolved without treatment. This is now a staple supplement for myself as a cardiovascular athlete.

Beta-Alanine isn't impossible to source as a vegan, but it's always good to have a boost of it before any kind of workout – mental as well as physical. This is now my go-to product for helping me wake up in the morning, improving my mood, and raising my productivity, as well as letting me feel an extra "pump" during workouts. Having said all that, I should probably add that it's not the only product I've been taking that could result in these benefits: I've also begun taking MyVegan's Vitamin D (which helps mood) and Vegan Omega (which should improve brain function, conducive of both mood and productivity). So you may wish to experiment if you can't afford/don't fancy all three products. I'd recommend starting with this one, though, especially if you're also doing any kind of fitness activity – your muscles will thank you.

I don't get a "buzz" from Beta-Alanine like everyone else on the Internet seems to, but I do notice a difference in my overall feeling of strength when I mix it in with some creatine and taurine 20min or so before a workout. If you use "rate of perceived exertion" methods to decide your weights, you may find yourself lifting heavier after a few days of use.
